Principal Bill Rowley

April 16, 2008

Dear CFS Family,

Last summer we were all very concerned about a drought, in fact several times we prayed here at school and in our churches for rain. Many people with wells were concerned the wells would go dry. In fact some did. This morning driving to school, I could not help but notice the green in the grass, the leaves, the bushes, and the beautiful flowers. When I drove over Kentucky Dam this weekend it was obvious, the water is back.  In fact all across the South, which last summer was so dry, is rapidly recovering with the plentiful rains of spring.

I was struck with the contrast between my quickness to pray to God for water last summer and my slowness to thank God for His gracious provision now. Psalm 147:7-8 declares, “Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; make music to our God on the harp. He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills.”

I can not play the harp and my singing is not requested by anyone other than my Algebra I class. But I can praise God openly for His faithfulness, not just for the rain, but for his multiple blessings and provision every single day.

Parents, let your children see your confidence and your faith in God’s faithfulness to you and your family on a daily basis. Let them hear it from your mouth; let them see it with their eyes. Young people desperately want to see in their parents a faith that is real.

Blessings to you, in the wonderful faithfulness of God,

Bill Rowley, CFS Principal
